Columbia Charrette:Where the Fate of Merrieweather Will Be Determined
October 15 – 22, 2005

Here’s the skinny: The charrette will begin on Saturday, October 15 at 1 pm (registration starts at 12:30 pm) at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia. This first day will be a public workshop, where groups of Howard County residents will have the chance to express their vision for downtown Columbia, including Merriweather. During the following week, planners will be working in the Spear Center at the General Growth Headquarters in Columbia, distilling citizen input and refining the plan. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Howard County citizens will have a chance to observe the planners work at 6:30 pm each day. Finally, on Saturday, October 22 at 2 pm, the final plan will be released. Howard County residents are encouraged to preregister by e-mailing their name and contact information to downtowncharrette@co.ho.md.us.
